Kung Fu Meets Ursa Major in New “Sushi Crush” Short Film

We’re guessing the all-Buenos Aires team of animation/design studio Váscolo and Drop Music Branding had a blast making this action-comedy short featuring a legendary Kung Fu master, a very hungry bear, and their shared love of raw fish.

The team at Váscolo explains: “At the foot of the Himalayas takes refuge the insensitive tyrant Shaolin Monk Back Mei. After selling his soul to the darkest powers, he toured all of China, becoming the best exponent of Kung Fu in the entire Orient.

“His fight to seize and dominate the territory of Nepal was relentless, fueling his ambition with powerful, precise, and deadly movements that left only destruction in his path.

“Decades of tyranny fell apart in a matter of seconds with a fight that had nothing to do with the search for an eternal legacy. A fortuitous meeting, for his innumerable enemies, between Back Mei and this blue creature from the forest that sniffed his precious food from miles away.

“This short film seeks to represent the epic battle that restored balance to the region despite only fighting for the last sushi piece.”
