Ukranian Studio The Unicorn Becomes a Client of Their Client

In the face of night bombings and blackouts, Ukrainian boutique branding/animation agency The Unicorn discovered they had a very real-world need for LucidLink’s cloud-based production software they were commissioned to explain.

Sofia Rud, head of agency at Unicorn: “When we discussed the project with LucidLink for the first time, we thought we should be their client rather than vice versa.

“We designed each character in the film by taking references from our team members and got supportive feedback from people who recognized themselves in LucidLink characters. It’s what we miss most often in commercial animation and explainer videos – real personalities and a powerful emotional story.

“Using LucidLink helped a lot as we worked on the project under challenging conditions. As a Ukrainian-based team, we endure night bombing (it continues) and blackouts. Even with generators, sometimes we were without electricity for days at a time.

“Through all this, we knew the project was safe in the cloud, and the team members were doing their job. It was great to create a film for not just another tech project but for software that we now actually use in our everyday workflow.”
