Shiseido WASO: Botanical Beauty

To emphasize the fact Shiseido’s new WASO skincare range “harnesses the power of Japanese food and botanicals,” Dvein teamed with botanists, robot makers, and London CG house Analog to create this striking garden installation.

“The plant growth footage took months to research and film with the final installation a perfect marriage of real in-camera robotics, botany and CG wizardry all culminating in a sculpture that is a visual metaphor for the Shiseido WASO products.

“The Washoku philosophy is based on the Japanese spirit of treating nature with respect, and is integrated into the Japanese way of life. It covers a historical manner of selecting, cooking, serving and enjoying a range of traditional Japanese dishes.”

“The film comes with the launch of Shiseido’s new line of skincare products designed for millennials who crave authenticity and diversity.”
