“The Falling Man”: A Short Film for Ukraine by Guido Ponzini

Guido Ponzini, a Houdini and real-time technical artist who also holds a Master’s Degree in electronic music, just dropped this powerful personal project in support of Ukraine – rendered in Unreal Engine and post-processed in Photoshop using AI.

Guido Ponzini in Parma, Italy: “Have you ever dreamed that you are falling? The uncertain times we live in certainly resemble this nightmare.

The Falling Man is a personal and heartfelt reflection on the horror in Ukraine today, with special attention to the civilian victims. It is also a critique of the fetishization of any tragedy.

“Images of conflicts are transformed when they reach the media to help us remember and understand, but unfortunately, sometimes they are also exploited and end up stripped of their meaning.”

Ponzini currently works as a Houdini TA at Taxfreefilm in Parma. His music and sound design clients include Warner Music, EMI, Ubisoft (Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood OST), Nintendo Europe, Viacom, and The Paramount Channel.
