Time Capsule: Hong Seong-hyun Rediscovers the JVC 3100R

Veteran 3D motion artist Hong Seong-hyun (aka UNIQUEMO) takes time away from client work to craft a delightful homage to the classic (and very collectible) JVC 3100R, a compact TV and radio capsule from 1978.

Hong Seong-hyun: “The JVC 3100R has a pyramid-like form, where functionality and sculptural design coexist, reflecting the experimental spirit of consumer electronics design of that era.

“Particular attention was given to the subtle reflections of the plastic housing, the tactile quality of the button mechanisms, with close-up compositions highlighting its analog character. The background was kept minimal to emphasize the product and its mechanical components.”
