Iconoclast & Le Truc Drop Flowerbomb for Viktor & Rolf

Iconoclast director Yoann Lemoine and Swiss CG house Le Truc (whose Devialet film we featured in the Stash Annual 2025), conjure a full sensory overload in this Flowerbomb campaign film for Dutch luxury fashion house Viktor & Rolf.

Albin Merle, CG artist at Le Truc: “The brief required a highly distinctive visual identity for peony flowers, capable of extending the Flowerbomb universe into a more spatial, sensorial, and immersive dimension.

“Creation of the CG flowers quickly became an image laboratory where rendering techniques and layered animations were tested and refined.”

“The objective was to design flowers that felt both luscious and unreal, combining a sense of volume, and floating fragrance to evoke a strong emotional response rather than strict realism.

“To achieve this, the project went through an extensive R&D phase in collaboration with Iconoclast and director Yoann Lemoine. Creation of the CG flowers quickly became an image laboratory where rendering techniques and layered animations were tested and refined, especially in the way synthetic imagery interacted with filmed footage.

“One of the main challenges was finding the right balance between material richness and lightness, so the flowers felt dense and tactile while still existing in a dreamlike, almost weightless space. This experimental approach guided the entire production process and shaped the final aesthetic of the film.”
