“Jump”, Van Halen’s 1984 pop-rock mega-hit, gets a shiny update as the Coca-Cola x FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem, uniting the talents of Buenos Aires animation studio 2veinte with director/art director McFlyy and creative collective TUNL.
From 2veinte: “Our challenge was to combine the energy of football with the presence of all four artists into a sci-fi universe, shaping both the narrative and visual identity of the music video.
“The process began with character designs, concepts, a storyboard, and references from the film Redline (2009), all provided by McFlyy and TUNL. We translated and expanded those ideas into a visual language that blends American comic book influences with Japanese anime.
“A team of more than 30 artists carried the production forward, resulting in approximately 130 animated shots and 100 backgrounds.”
“The first step was turning the storyboard into an animatic, a key stage for establishing the rhythm and designing camera moves that allowed the action to be choreographed with the music. From there, we developed the styleframes while exploring the environments, their color palettes, and the visual treatment of each setting.
“With these foundations in place, a team of more than 30 artists carried the production forward, resulting in approximately 130 animated shots and 100 backgrounds.”
Timed for the buildup to FIFA World Cup 26, The video features avatars of Colombian superstar J Balvin and American singer/songwriter Amber Mark with guitar-god Steve Vai and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker taking over from the Van Halen brothers.
