Reza Dolatabadi: “For the second episode in this series, we wanted to slow everything down. If Interlagos was about speed, this film is about memory, about the moments that shaped the drivers long before the world saw them race.
“The film captures that nostalgia through a stripped back, black and white world that feels grainy, tactile, and emotional.”

“This film looks back at the human side of Formula 1. Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, and Jessica Hawkins reflect on their early days, the first laps that sparked a lifetime of competition. The film captures that nostalgia through a stripped back, black and white world that feels grainy, tactile, and emotional.
“The project combines 2D and 3D animation created by artists working across continents and time zones. With only six weeks to complete the film, the distributed team turned distance into an advantage, running production continuously across time zones and effectively extending the creative process around the clock.
“We wanted the music to shape how the film is felt. Instead of relying on library tracks or AI generated sound, we created an original orchestral score recorded live. Bringing real musicians into the process added a human presence you may not consciously notice, but can feel throughout the film.”
