Lighting MAP: jformento Straps In to Illuminate Lodes

In their new film for Italian lighting brand Lodes, co-founder/CD Jonathan Formento and his CG motion crew (whose work we track here), take a hyper-minimalist approach to keep attention tightly focused on the product.

Jonathan Formento: “Defined by a continuous fabric tape that carries both energy and form, the MAP ceiling and wall lighting system allows light points to be placed with freedom, creating compositions that feel almost celestial.

“A study of how design can be both engineered and expressive, where performance and aesthetics exist in balance.”

“Working side by side with Lodes, we’ve created a dedicated CGI film to showcase not only the sleek and clean design of MAP, but translate it’s unique features and scalable possibilities.

“Our approach was to translate this flexibility into a series of refined visual moments, where rhythm, tension and materiality guide the narrative. A study of how design can be both engineered and expressive, where performance and aesthetics exist in balance.”
