Drift Away on Hideki Inaba’s Mesmerizing “Time Tides” Short Film

Director/animator Hideki Inaba, whose intricate and hypnotic work Stash has been covering since 2015, recently collaborated with French director/motion designer Jonathan Plesel to create this piece called Time Tides.

Based on a track by musical artist Moshimoss, the film was made possible by the team at design festival Motion Plus Design connecting their sponsors Dropbox and Adobe with the director.

Hideki Inaba: “The waves of the sea gently ebb and flow, while the mountains silently observe the passing of time. The short life of a bee and the long transformation of continents, both are merely illusions. The flow of time shines eternally in each fleeting moment. Perhaps there are neither beginnings nor ends, nor haste nor delay, not even existence or cessation, in its true essence.”
